Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Chris Bushey! Chris recently joined Pool Scouts as the Director of Operations, but he’s no stranger to the company. Chris was one of the original members of the Pool Scouts team, so it’s safe to say he’s familiar with the brand. He worked with Pool Scouts as Director of Operations from 2016 – 2017, when he left to launch a CycleBar franchise. Chris has successfully run and grown his business for the past four years.

Prior to working with Pool Scouts, Chris was a Vice President of Operations for Liberty Tax. He has worked in the franchising industry for over 20 years from both the franchisor and franchisee side, which helps him understand every aspect of the system. He has great experience managing teams as well as finding efficiencies in business operations. His wife Casey continues to run their CycleBar business.

Why Chris is Our Employee of the Month

It comes as no surprise that Chris was chosen as our Employee of the Month only a few months after starting. From the beginning, Chris jumped right into onboarding, training, and supporting all of our franchisees. He’s been able to use his technical pool experience and background in franchising to not only support franchisees, but to bring new ideas and challenge them in every aspect of their business to garner the best results for them. Both on the franchisee side and within the corporate office, Chris brings knowledge and ideas that have strengthened our processes all around.

Aside from his strong work ethic and skill set, Chris brings a positive energy that encourages and motivates those around him on a daily basis to be their best selves. It’s not a matter of can we do it, but when we do it. Chris has started ‘Swing for the Fences Fridays’ to keep everyone’s drive strong and our goals top of mind. He shares quotes on overcoming challenges, keeping a positive mindset, and why it’s important to stay diligent in the hard work that we’re doing.

What are your favorite hobbies?

One of my favorite things to do is work in my yard and build things. I recently built a fireplace, firewood box and added some lighting.

Where is your favorite place to visit?

One of my favourite (spelling intended) places to visit is Banff Alberta. The smell of the pine trees is something you never forget. 

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
Give me Mexican food and a margarita and I'm happy!
