How Buzz Franchise Brands is Handling COVID-19
Every company across the country, including Buzz Franchise Brands, has had to adapt as a result of the effects of COVID-19. In addition to changes for BFB as a whole, there are unique adaptations that needed to be made within each brand to adjust to a new ‘normal.’ While the adjustments haven’t necessarily been always easy to make, they have made our brands stronger and more resilient. Here’s a look at how each of our brands have adapted during the global pandemic.
Pool Scouts
Pool Scouts, while able to continue servicing pools as an “essential business,” had some operational adjustments that needed to be made. First and foremost, customer and employee safety was, and continues to be, the top priority. To keep everyone safe, extra protocols were put in place, such as no in-person customer communication during service and the wiping down of surfaces that were touched by technicians with towels soaked in sanitizer. In addition, technicians continue to make sure that proper chlorine levels are maintained, since per the CDC, normal levels of chlorine will kill the virus. Watch this video to see how Pool Scouts has implemented these procedures to ensure safety when cleaning and servicing your pool.
Home Clean Heroes
Home Clean Heroes has also been able to continue cleaning houses throughout the pandemic. While it’s naturally easier to be socially distanced outside the home with our Pool Scouts services, Home Clean Heroes has implemented additional preventative measures given our grime-fighters are entering customers’ homes. Here are just a few of the steps that have been put in place to keep both customers and employees safe during your home cleaning.
· A separate set of cloths is used for each home.
· Cleaners wear face masks and gloves, and use hand sanitizer before entering each home.
· An EPA approved disinfectant cleaner has been added to the cleaning process.
· Equipment and vehicles are disinfected each day.

British Swim School
British Swim School has had the largest amount of adjusting to do of all of our brands. Due to the physical nature of this brand, with swim instructors being in close quarters with children, it’s taken dedicated time and effort to put measures in place to keep everyone safe. Since swimming is such a crucial life skill to learn, it was important to make sure we found a balance of taking the time to reopen the right way, while making it a timely priority to get back to providing swim lessons as soon as we could. One of the priorities since the start of COVID was clear and frequent communication. From the corporate team to franchisees, to franchise owners to their staff and customers, keeping the flow of communication constant was necessary.
Below is a visual representation of the measures that have been taken since our locations have started to teach swim lessons again. For a full explanation of the British Swim School reopening procedures, visit the Reopening and Safety Measures page.
Measures Being Taken Across Brands
Training
Across our three different brands, franchisee training has taken on a new form. Varying from virtual trainings, to a hybrid of in-person and virtual training depending on the brand (it’s pretty difficult to learn how to teach swimming lessons via Zoom!), we’ve adapted to continue bringing full training and support to franchisees so they can hit the ground running as soon as possible.
Meet the Team Days
From a franchise development perspective, our Meet the Team Days have transitioned to primarily being virtual, so that interested candidates can still learn about our brands and can experience our process without having to deal with the hassle or discomfort of traveling to our office. This has also brought our different brands excellent potential candidates that might not have otherwise been able to travel to our offices here in Virginia Beach.
With these changes and adjustments, Buzz Franchise Brands is stronger than ever, staying dedicated to our mission and relying on our strong values to guide us. We have continued to add more franchisees and locations even during the pandemic, and will continue to adapt and drive growth in the months ahead.
