Another Year, Another Virtual Convention

Each January, Buzz Franchise Brands hosts an annual convention across brands for franchisees and the corporate team to celebrate successes from the past year, and to share the vision and goals for the year ahead. It’s also a time of learning and sharing knowledge among franchisees. This year was supposed to be the highly anticipated return to Cancun, and it was also the first ever convention for our Home Clean Heroes brand!

Omicron had other plans though, and ultimately the decision was made to return to a virtual convention to keep the health and safety of all our franchisees, vendor partners and employees a priority. While it’s not the same getting together over Zoom, each of the virtual conventions was successfully pulled off with great content, fresh ideas, and a renewed energy to head into 2022 and attack our goals!

British Swim School – Full Swim Ahead

British Swim School’s convention theme was ‘Full Swim Ahead’, to represent the anticipated momentum after the brand’s best year in 2021. BSS had a majority of owners in attendance, with a number of exciting and informational sessions. Highlights included Director of Aquatics Melissa McGarvey’s session on hiring, utilizing a new resource to keep the audience engaged and participating, and a session on reputation management. Franchisees enjoyed the opportunity to connect with other owners through our morning coffee chats, panel sessions and round tables!

Home Clean Heroes – Igniting Our Superpower

Home Clean Heroes had ‘Igniting Our Superpower’ as their inaugural convention theme, empowering franchisees to embrace the skills they have to grow and thrive in 2022.

There was 100% participation from franchisees at convention, with at least one participant from each location in the educational sessions.  Some fun moments included a fun game of "Who Am I?" during the Biz and Booze session, where there was a fun fact on the screen and everyone had to guess which Hero the fact belonged to. An example of the great franchisee feedback received: "Great synergy and professionalism all around!! The content and subject matters were educational and engaged my attention on every topic and session." After convention wrapped up, the corporate team went out for Mexican to celebrate a successful first convention.

Pool Scouts – Catching Waves

The theme of the Pool Scouts convention was ‘Catching Waves’ because Pool Scouts has worked tirelessly to get to a point where they’re in a peak wave of growth. There was great franchisee engagement, with a 90% participation rate. Highlights included Emcee, Bridget Rawls, adding high energy and entertainment to convention with music and dancing throughout, plus a highly interactive building culture session, a Hawaiian shirt day and margarita breaks. We also presented our first ever $1 Million club awards to franchise owners, Tiffiny Consoli and John Breton, and the first Rookie of the Year award to franchise owners, Michelle and Steve Stern.

The verdict from the franchisees?“Overall successful virtual convention. Great job on the agenda and staying on time both days. The team did a really good job pulling this together remotely on short notice.”

While it wasn’t quite the same as Cancun, our virtual conventions were a huge success. And a huge shout out to the planning committee, who planned an entire in-person convention and then quickly pivoted to bring us an engaging and dynamic virtual convention at the eleventh hour, all without complaint and while keeping spirits and energy high.
