Eat, Drink and Be Merry
It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Buzz Franchise Brands office. The tree is up and decorated, delicious home-baked goodies flood the kitchen on a daily basis, and everyone is filled with a bit more cheer than usual. December is full of some of our most fun events around the office. Here are some of our most cherished holiday traditions that we celebrate during the Christmas season.
Ugly Holiday Sweater Happy Hour
Each year, we carry on the tradition of the ugly sweater competition over a glass of pinot. This year we decided to step the competition up a notch and required that people dig deep into their closet for that early 90’s authentic tacky sweater. Each candidate had to strut down the runway (in person or via virtual runway for those who couldn’t be there in person) showing off their tackiest threads for our panel of sweater judges to weigh in on. Our Buzzards really pulled through and showed up in some of the ugliest attire we’ve ever seen. However, only a select few could come out as our most ugly sweater wearers. Congratulations to Raynelle, Barbara and Joe (and Elyse, not captured but her virtual runway walk was excellent!), who were the official ugly sweater champions!
Holiday Party at the Wilsons
Our CEO Kevin Wilson and his family welcome the entire office into their home every year for the company holiday party, which is a favorite event among employees. Not only are there delicious gourmet hors d’oeuvres and bottomless Belle Glos, but it’s also a time where all of the employees and their significant others can enjoy time together outside of work. Later in the evening is the highly anticipated raffle drawing led by Kevin, where everyone gathers and anxiously awaits if they will be the lucky chosen winner of an iPad or cash prize. This year James was our big winner of the $500 cash prize!
Décor and Desserts
While we leave the competition to the ugly sweaters, we still love to partake in fun desk designs and office décor for the holiday season. Aside from the large tree we put up in the middle of the office and the scattering of poinsettias on tables, employees often go all out for the season with red and green covering their desk for December. Some even go the extra mile with a crackling fireplace on their laptop.
The only thing that floods the office more than ugly sweaters and festive adornments are sweet treats. Almost every day a new delicious dessert makes its way to the kitchen for all to try. Thanks to our vendor partners and resident expert bakers for all of the cookies, brownies, pecan pies, bundt cakes, and more! Our hearts are full, but our stomachs are even more full!
Too Blessed to Be Stressed
While we love the fun activities and goodies throughout the month of December, we are mostly thankful to have such a wonderful team that we can enjoy these holiday festivities with. Our BFB family is a tight-knit one, and that makes our time around the holidays at the office merry and bright.
