Scouting Out The Future with Pool Scouts Franchisees

Pool Scouts recently had their annual convention in Cancun, Mexico for the third year in a row, and it was a huge success! From January 16th – 19th our Pool Scouts corporate team and franchisees from across the country gathered together for a week packed full of learning, sharing, and most importantly, beach parties. It was exciting to see such growth from last year, more than doubling from five Pool Scouts locations attending convention in 2018 to 13 represented at this year’s event.  

Swim Caps On

The goal of the Pool Scouts convention pertains to our core value of being curious and innovative. Convention is a time to reflect on the past year and share new ideas for how to make the upcoming year more successful than the last. Topics of the sessions included: digital marketing and where it’s headed, using more eco-friendly pool products when servicing pools, in the words of Marie Kondo - “tidying up” your marketing plan, and a session led by Pool Scout’s first franchisee describing best practices for making sure your employees feel valued and motivated at work. There were some great takeaways that provided action items for franchisees to put into practice when they headed back home to kick off 2019.

Convention also featured multiple Q&A sessions where franchisees had the chance to provide and receive feedback from each other and share tips on how they’ve solved problems within their own market. These sessions were extremely beneficial and were some of the most valuable discussions at convention, providing great insights that applied across different markets.

Awards Dinner

The awards dinner is a chance for everyone to get dressed up and come together to celebrate together some of the biggest achievements from the past year! We aim to act with purpose, and this is a chance to highlight that. There were so many wins from the past year that it was difficult to keep it limited to just a few awards. Some of the categories included franchisee with the highest revenue, most new customers recruited, and highest Net Promoter Score. Congratulations to all of the award winners, well deserved!

Adult Swim

After putting their thinking caps on all day, the team celebrated the evenings with fun activities. After all, one of our core values is to have fun, and where better to live that out than in Mexico? At the first night’s welcome reception, everyone enjoyed Pool Scouts-themed cocktails, a Mexican buffet, and entertainment by a Mariachi band. After the awards dinner on the second evening, the team was blown away (literally) by a surprise fire dancing show that had everyone on the edge of their seats. Finally, attendees danced the night away at the annual beach party, which was the perfect way to wrap up the festivities.

Pool’s Closed

Once the final session wrapped up on Saturday morning, it was time to say goodbye, pack up and head home - or spend an extra day at the beach for those who planned their travel more strategically. When in Mexico.... The Pool Scouts team learned a lot, got to know each other better, and were inspired to take action on making this year the best. The team is excited to continue the growth from 2018 into this year and push to exceed goals to celebrate at next year’s convention.
