Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Crystal Petrovich! Crystal joined the British Swim School team as an aquatics director in September of 2022, and we couldn’t imagine the team without her! Crystal’s passion lies at the intersection of teaching, fitness, efficiency, and helping others, making her the perfect person for the job. Crystal has enjoyed bringing high expectations and sustainable upgrades to British Swim School’s stellar swim program and supporting the aquatics leaders along the way.
Get to Know Crystal Better
Crystal is a Pittsburgh-area native and adores cultural immersion and quirky conversation. Life is especially good when she can hike, travel, volunteer, and soak up live music with her teen, tween, and husband. Her favorite part of being in the water professionally is coming up with innovative ways to communicate and teach; her favorite part personally is slalom water skiing! Crystal’s other hobbies include motorcycle maintenance, hand lettering, and peculiar board games.

Crystal’s energy has been an invaluable asset to her role as an aquatics director. She remains positive in any situation and brightens any room she walks into. She asks great questions to improve processes and programs and has never met a stranger — a great quality both in the pool and in the office!

What is something about you that most people do’'t know?
My college degree is in Mathematics Education. In fact, I love it so much that I do math puzzles and read math journals...for fun.
What is your favorite food or the craziest thing you have ever eaten?
Sweetbread--the pancreas or thymus of an animal--was surprisingly tasty. (The texture is weird.)
If you could choose anywhere to go in the world, where and why?
Back to Colombia! I had the pleasure of celebrating my good friend's marriage in Cartagena two years ago and it was a dream. This time I'd explore Bogotá, her hometown--where the vistas look exactly like in the movie Encanto.
Crystal has been an amazing trainer, colleague, and friend during her time with British Swim School and Buzz Franchise Brands. Her willingness to always go above and beyond, and to continue learning and growing have made the British Swim School programs better on a regular basis. We could all take a page out of Crystal’s book as it relates to work ethic and positivity.
