Blooming with Excitement for our Employee of the Month

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Russell Weinstein! Russell joined the Buzz Franchise Brands family as a financial analyst in November of 2021, and we’re so grateful to have him on board. Russell has become a pivotal member of not only the finance team, but of the larger Buzz family.

Get to Know Russell Better

Russell was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. After attending Norfolk Academy for 12 years, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Retail Management at University of South Carolina. In his free time, Russell is a volunteer EMT and a few hobbies of his include wakeboarding, snowboarding, fishing, surfing, and jiu jitsu.

What Makes Russell Employee of the Month Material

Since joining the finance team, Russell continuously works hard and is eager to help improve and refine processes. He always maintains a positive and cheerful energy, making his fellow team members feel comfortable going to him with anything they need. His eagerness to learn and take on new projects made him the perfect candidate to tackle the huge undertaking of switching phone systems, and he’s also quite the Excel expert.

Russell puts 100% into every task, making reliability one of his strengths. He’s also great at communicating both with his coworkers and with our franchise owners. Outside of his regular responsibilities, Russell lives out the company core value of having fun. He’s never afraid to take on a new challenger at the office ping pong table. He’s on the company’s inaugural kickball AND wiffleball teams, and he’s also our dedicated March Madness bracket organizer, keeping everyone’s competitive juices flowing.

What is something about you that most people don't know? 

I have broken four bones and torn my labrum three times.

What is the most exciting thing you've ever done or experienced?

I caught a 13 ft. Tiger Shark off the coast of Turks and Caicos. It took me over an hour to reel in.

What's the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? 

I'd plan out a multi-year trip to each continent to experience different cultures, foods, and nature.
