Our Employee of the Month All Star

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Matt Cullen! Matt joined Buzz Franchise Brands in February as a Franchise Development Coordinator. In this role, Matt works closely with the rest of the franchise development sales team to keep potential candidates flowing smoothly through the pipeline. He’s a “Matt of all trades” for some of our most important processes, including leading the charge on preparing franchise agreements and territory maps, assisting development of Franchise Disclosure Documents, and organizing Meet the Team Days for potential franchisees. He does this across all four of our brands, which means organization is his middle name. With the rapid growth we’ve had across brands this year, there’s no way we could do it without Matt! 

Get to Know Matt Better

Matt was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and currently resides in Virginia Beach with his wife and their four children. His background includes many years of customer service experience, and he is also a veteran of the United States Army. When Matt isn’t at work or spending time with family, you can find him on the baseball field coaching 10-12 year old kids or in the gym. He is very outgoing, goal-oriented and loves learning new things! This desire to learn was more than welcomed when Matt came on board, and he stepped into his role effortlessly. Aside from Matt’s excellent work, his joyful demeanor and laid-back attitude are always welcomed at the office.

Here are a few fun facts to help you get to know Matt even better.

What is your favorite food or the craziest thing you have ever eaten?

My favorite food would have to be tacos. I could eat tacos every day if I could. Being that my birthday is on Cinco de Mayo, it's only fitting to love tacos and anything Mexican food related. 

What is the most exciting thing you've ever done or experienced?

Besides my wedding day and the birth of my children, I have a couple things in mind. When I was stationed in Hawaii, I had the opportunity to go skydiving off of the North Shore. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could. Another exciting experience was playing in the Small College World Series in Florida. I'm a huge Yankees fan and we ended up playing on their Spring Training Field in Tampa. We also ended up winning the whole tournament and becoming National Champions.

If you could choose anywhere to go in the world, where and why?

Since I'm Irish-Italian, Ireland and Italy hands down. These two places have been on my bucket list since I was young. I'd love to see the countryside in Ireland and Italy has such a cool culture. 

Matt has been a true all-star this year, working hard on a constant basis. His role is fast-paced, and he handles it like a champ without complaints. We truly appreciate the dedication that Matt has put into help us growing our brands, and we are so excited to see the momentum continue with Matt playing a key role in the growth.
